Chaplains Column
Dear Knights:
It is with great pleasure that I write these lines to you, the Knights of Council 13037 of the Knights of Columbus, of our St. Madeleine Parish of High Springs, Florida.
The strong tradition of service and fellowship of the Knights of Columbus find no better manifestation anywhere else than in our own Council 13037. During the years I have been at this parish, you have been instrumental and an intrinsical part of all we have achieved together. Indeed the Parish could not have met its goals without you. The entire Parish and I thank you.
Blessed Father McGivney Memorial Wall at the entrance of the new Family Life Center is a tribute to the members of our council, for their role as the strong right arm of the family parish of St. Madeleine. The Memorial Wall also will encourage our parishioners to join us in praying fervently for the beatification of the Venerable Michael McGivney.
We look to ourselves as the successors of Father McGivney and rely upon the Eucharist and our devotion to Mary in our undertakings of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
We also need to remind our fellow parishioners that if you are not a Knight, you are really missing much of our Catholic Church.
May Mary Our Mother and Queen of the Knights keep each of you in her prayers. I pray that our Merciful Lord blesses each of you and our parish.
Yours in Christ,
Father Sebastian
Chaplain/Pastor
