Knights Host Altar Servers' Picnic
St. Madeleine's altar servers laughed, splashed and chowed down on great food at a picnic in Ichetucknee Park sponsored by our Council.
The Schentrup Boys Loved That Corn
Each year, the Knights put on the event to show the altar servers and their families how much we appreciate what they do for St. Madeleine's Church.
The altar servers, Knights and their families had a great time tubing down the cool, clear waters of the Ichetucknee River. Afterward, they then feasted on hotdogs, hamburgers, sausages, corn on the cob and a variety of side dishes.
A good turnout of Knights showed up and pitched in to help with the cooking, serving, clean up and entertainment with some Knights more entertaining than others.
Dick Williams headed up the effort, but got plenty of help from Brother Knights Bill McCarthy, George Murdock, Gator Creasman, Mark Paletti, David King, Mike Wilson, Emil Koller, and Mike Schenrup.
During the picnic, many of the altar servers and family members went out of their way to thank the Knights for the event.
But we really didn't need the thanks, the laughter and fun they had was thank you enough.
